Dance of Geometry was the first design by Sirokina for Square in Circle. Inspired by the costumes worn in Oskar Schlemmer’s 1922 Bauhaus Ballet, the design translates the exaggerated shapes and proportions of the dancers’ costume to create a lamp with a similarly dramatic silhouette.
Playing with ideas of flatness and solidity, stillness and movement, the Dance of Geometry offers an ever changing interplay of shapes, materials and finishes. A brushed-brass visor glides smoothly over the glass globe, and can be positioned to expose more or less light, making it possible to illuminate the entire space with a soft glow, or to create a more directional light onto the desk below.
