Much like bookends, the two metal triangles at the base of the lamp hug either side of a rectangular piece of marble. The intersecting shapes and materials stabilise the breadth and volume of the light shade above - a deep-dish circular form with frosted glass shades on its upper and lower faces.
The palette of contrasting yet harmonious materials combine to create an elegant jigsaw - which reflects the origin of the design, which include playing with a set of Bauspiel Blocks - wooden playing blocks that are closely associated with the Bauhaus School of design, and that foreground creative constructions and a sense of balance.
