Made in solid black marble, the lamp’s base - an upright cylinder with a flat base and rounded tip - is cleaved in half, creating two identical pieces: much like bookends.
Between the two halves sits a slim rectangular box in brushed brass - its sharp angular silhouette in contrast to the soft, curved shape of the marble supports. One senses the weight and solidity of the marble, and the stability it brings to the design, which is topped with a large, white cotton shade, whose generous proportions extend well beyond the base.
A medley of different shapes and materials - marble, metal and cotton - there is a certain ease to the overall composition, how the pieces all come together, a perfect harmony.
